We have advised BLS UK Hotels, a UK subsidiary of India-headquartered and National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange-listed BLS International Services, on its £6.55m share acquisition of the Trefeddian Hotel in Aberdovey, Wales.

The deal forms part of BLS International Services’ broader strategy to diversify into the hospitality sector.

Founded in 1903, the Trefeddian Hotel is a well-established property overlooking Cardigan Bay on Wales’ west coast. It has been owned by the same family for over 100 years. With 59 rooms and a rich heritage, the hotel offers modern amenities including a spa, indoor pool and self-catering luxury units.

Gateley Legal’s team was led by corporate partner Max Moore, supported amongst others by corporate associate Amy Ellis, real estate partner James Madill and employment senior associate Navjhot Atwal. In addition to legal advice on the acquisition, Gateley Vinden also supported the transaction, conducting pre-acquisition technical due diligence led by Tim Aitchison, Director and Head of Building Consultancy and Hannah Kirkwood, Chartered Surveyor.

Max Moore commented: “It’s great to have supported BLS UK Hotels on its second UK hotel acquisition. The transaction aligns with BLS International’s disciplined strategy to develop its UK hospitality platform, and we’re proud to bring our strong credentials in the hotels space to the table. What sets Gateley apart is our ability to offer clients a truly integrated service, from legal advice and real estate expertise to technical consultancy and surveying through Gateley Vinden. That breadth of capability allows us to support clients across the full lifecycle of a property transaction to help them achieve their growth ambitions. We look forward to continuing the relationship with BLS as they further develop their growth plans.”
