We have successfully advised the shareholders of Sunrise Group on their sale to the Latvian poultry and agriculture group Agrova International.

The transaction, which was backed by the European private equity firm Accession Capital Partners, will help accelerate growth and innovation across both businesses.

Sunrise Group is a Midlands-headquartered egg production and distribution company trading as Sunrise Poultry Farms. The acquisition of Sunrise will see Agrova International become a significant player in poultry farming, egg production, and innovative egg-based products within the UK.

Agrova International, headquartered in Riga, Latvia, is a leading European poultry and agri-foods group. Alongside its investment in Sunrise, it holds a majority stake in the Latvian publicly-listed APF Holdings, a vertically-integrated business driving growth in poultry farming, egg production, trading, and sustainable biogas and organic fertiliser initiatives.

Our team was led by corporate partner William Bowler, supported by corporate partner Beth Mather, and corporate solicitor Charles Davies.

We are pleased that Agrova International – a professional, innovation-driven European group with the same focus as ourselves on quality and sustainability – will lead Sunrise into its next phase of development. I would like to thank the excellent team at Gateley Legal for their invaluable support and advice, which guided us through this transaction and made the deal a success for all parties.
Ady Crawley, Managing Director, Sunrise

William Bowler added: “There is a real synergy between Sunrise and Agrova International’s offering and business ethos which was key to a successful outcome for both businesses. We are delighted to have advised on this transaction, which underscores Gateley Legal’s deep expertise in supporting on significant cross-border deals and breadth of sector experience.”
