How do you help clients?

I enjoy learning about my clients’ businesses and listening to what they want to achieve so that I can advise on and help them obtain the best trade mark protection for their brands in the relevant countries around the world.

I also enjoy helping clients enforce and/ or defend their trade marks against third parties and negotiating on their behalf in disputes.

Experience

  1. Conducting the clearance searches, advising on the risks and managing the global trade mark filings for the re-brand of a UK-based asset and wealth management company.
  2. Successfully obtaining registration after filing evidence of use for a retail client of a trade mark based on acquired distinctiveness.
  3. Advising a tech client on multiple oppositions filed by a much larger video game company and successfully negotiating a co-existence agreement to conclude the dispute.
  4. Successfully opposing an EU trade mark and successfully defending revocation actions for non-use before the EUIPO, Board of Appeal and the General Court on behalf of a beverage client.
  5. Advising on the transfer and recordal of a world wide trade mark portfolio and identifying gaps in protection for a beverage client.
