Our Birmingham office recently hosted an inspiring workshop with our corporate partner, Regeneration Brainery, giving young students a hands-on introduction to careers within the property sector.
The session kicked off with a lively icebreaker challenge, where students worked in teams to build a balloon chair. Following this, Amira Khan, construction partner, and Fraser Galloway, technical standards manager and chartered building surveyor, talked about how they got into their careers, their education and what a typical day looks like. The students were then treated to a session on early careers that highlighted the various routes into roles across the industry.
The workshop was designed to broaden students’ understanding of the sector, build their confidence, and reinforce that there is no single pathway into a successful career, encouraging them to explore their interest and ambitions. The session formed part of a wider five-day interactive bootcamp, during which the cohort of students are equipped with the tools, contacts, and practical knowledge to help kickstart their careers.
