Molly has a strong background in residential conveyancing and litigation, and works in Gateley Legal’s fire safety construction team. She advises on complex fire safety compliance matters, regulatory obligations, and risk management strategies for large-scale developments.

Having trained during the pandemic, Molly developed exceptional commercial awareness and adaptability, supporting multiple departments on a “needs of the business” basis. Her experience includes acting on behalf of both claimants and defendants in matters involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and professional negligence. 

Experience

  1. Advising developers, freeholders and insurers in relation to fire protection defects in building façade systems, following the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
  2. Assisted counsel in resisting an interim injunction, whereby a significant delay resulted in the application being denied. (AMOB Machinery Ltd v Smith-Hughes & Ors [2022] EWHC 1410 (QB)).
  3. Assisted in a complex contentious probate matter, whereby the court found that that the transfer was made in breach of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, rendering it void (Chandler v Lombardi [2022] EWHC 22 (Ch) (10 January 2022).
  4. Acting on behalf of the top 20 housebuilders, settling customer disputes without the need for costly litigation. 
  5. Advising developers and contractors on dispute resolution, including court proceedings, adjudication, arbitration and mediation.
