Memo is a chartered quantity surveyor with extensive international experience across the UK, Middle East and North Africa (Saudi Arabia, Libya and the UAE) and now back in the UK. He offers a unique blend of global insight and hands-on expertise from having worked as a PQS, consultant and contractor’s QS.

Memo is proficient in administering JCT, NEC, and FIDIC contracts and has managed costs for a diverse range of projects, from mixed-use developments to hospitality/leisure schemes to school expansions, infrastructure projects and fund monitoring assignments. Now back in the UK, he leverages his multi-perspective approach to deliver robust commercial management and cost advise to clients.

How do you help clients?

I help clients by delivering value, my first port of call is to listen to clients and understand their needs and requirements intimately. I provide early-stage budget forecasts and feasibility studies to ensure projects are financially viable from inception. I implement cost tracking systems to prevent budget overruns and keep spending aligned with projections.

I help clients by identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the original quality of design, materials, and construction method. I advise on the best procurement routes – and contractor negotiations to get a competitive market cost.

  1. Protected previous client’s budget by enforcing contractual terms and validating genuine variations.

  3. Secured a 5% cost saving on a hospitality development through proactive value engineering.
  4. Recovered £650,000 for a UK hotel client through a Final Account Negotiation.
  5. Safeguarded a funder/ lender’s investment through proactive fund monitoring on a UK school expansion programme.
  6. Successful contract administration on a complex emergency construction, of COVID-19 temporary accommodation for homeless/ disadvantaged persons, in the London Borough.
