Chris leads the project management and quantity surveying (PM/ QS) team across all offices. A chartered quantity surveyor with extensive pre- and post-contract experience, Chris has successfully delivered new build, extension, fit-out, and refurbishment projects across a diverse range of sectors including health, leisure, retail, residential, office, and industrial.

Chris brings significant expertise in managing multi-site rollouts throughout the UK and is committed to ensuring exceptional service quality and delivery. He plays a pivotal role in mentoring and supporting professionals at all levels within the business and has been instrumental in developing Gateley RJA’s APC offering for candidates.

As a key member of the senior management team, Chris was central to establishing and expanding the Nottingham office and continues to drive process improvements that enhance client support and team growth. His leadership reflects a strong focus on operational excellence and strategic development.

Experience

  1. Delivering medical centre extension and surgery-wide refurbishments in a live practice (including during a pandemic), acting as the lead project manager (PM), employer’s agent (EA) and quantity surveyor (QS).
  2. Acting as the lead project manager, employer’s agent and quantity surveyor providing much-needed accommodation for homeless and vulnerable people.
  3. Building the trust of a client for the delivery of their listed building project, ensuring all funding requirements were met prior to starting on site.
  4. Managing the post-contract works on a large national roll-out of new build public houses and lodges across the UK, delivering projects on site, overseeing a team of quantity surveyors and employer’s agents and managing the client’s supply chain.
  5. Advising a client throughout various challenging issues on the delivery of a housing development.
  6. Undertaking various fit-out, extension and refurbishment projects in live spaces for healthcare, retail and leisure clients, minimising disruption to their operations.
  7. Developed processes and systems to ensure efficient and effective delivery of various multi-site rollouts, improving quality, speed and costs for the client.
  8. Overseeing the delivery of various new build industrial units, car showrooms and office buildings.
