With over 30 years’ industry experience, Ian jointly heads up Gateley Vinden’s Contractual Receivables Advisory team, working with asset-based lenders and restructuring professionals.
Having spent the last 20 years as a Board Executive for both Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance Ltd and Bibby Financial Services Ltd, Ian has an in dept knowledge of the contractual receivables market, and passes this knowledge and insight on to his clients.
Ian and the wider team help clients in their capacity as Funders to understand the inherent risks within the construction/contractual sectors. This involves helping them understand such risks at the origination stage, how they may be able to manage their ongoing risk during the “in-life” stage and, if necessary, assist them in exiting/recovery should this be required. This often involves Ian and the wider team working alongside restructuring professionals, where required by the funder.
Often appointed directly by the restructuring professionals / insolvency practitioners, Ian and the team also assist them in understanding the nature of the contracts involved and advise them on the strategy of how best to optimise realisations for creditors.
