Mat has experience in a wide range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and disposals, development and all kinds of landlord and tenant work.

Mat joined Gateley in July 2024 and assists the property team members on investment and various value and complex transactions as well as running his own matters.

Mat is also assisting on property finance and property elements of corporate transactions.

Experience

1. Acted for a local authority in the northeast on a c3 million-pound large development and regeneration programme for c500 residential dwellings.
2. Part of a large team that advised on a c11 million-pound acquisition of a shopping centre within the northwest region.
3. Part of a large cross-working team that advised a local authority on: (1) the procurements of its leisure and entertainment facilities within the South Yorkshire region; and (2) the duties related to the property aspects of the authority’s exit from its current arrangements with an existing operator and the procurement of a new operator for the facilities.
4. Carrying out title due diligence to establish the potential impacts on intended developments and reporting on titles among various projects.
